Lithuania Opens Up
Improved technical integrations have meant the leading digital gaming solutions provider, Net Entertainment, have taken on Lituanian customers for the first time.
As a regulated market, Lithuania has long been a region earmarked for expansion. Games providers and developers have been eyeing the market for some time, and working through any logistical and regulatory barriers.
The expansion is a win-win scenario for both the company, online casinos and gamers – who will benefit from a much wider choice of slots, and access to some of the jackpots that were previously restricted.
Chief Product Officer at NetEnt, Henrik Fagerlund, commented:
“We continue to follow our growth strategy by strengthening our position in regulated markets. We are very pleased that our popular games are now also available for players in Lithuania”.
With online casinos already offering the new slots, Lithuanian players are already taking advantage of the new choices.
Canada Next Up
Another regulated market, Canada, has also been partially opened up. A more complex arrangement has seen NetEnt games offered via IGT and the British Columbia Lottery Cooperation (BCLC).
This expansion represents a significant ‘foot in the door’. While the games offered is initially just a range, the company believe it is another important step. They also highlighted the importance in working with other stakeholders to ensure regulated markets continue to protect the end user.
Therese Hillman, NetEnt CEO said:
“Launching our games to players in British Columbia is an important milestone for us in our expansion in North America. Entering regulated markets is a vital part of our strategy going forward, especially within the WLA segment. I am sure that our exciting games will be much appreciated by BCLC’s players.”
Boost For Online Operators
The new offerings are a welcome boost for online casinos. Retention is often a case of ensuring players have access to the newest and most exciting games and in adding NetEnt to their rosters, operators in Canada and Lithuania can ensure their customers enjoy the same level of choice as traders in other regulated markets.
